Elder Abuse
This course reviews elder abuse from identification to reporting. With one in ten Americans over the age of 65 abused each year, nurses have a duty to learn the skills needed to identify and report elder abuse both in the professional setting and while out in the community. This course defines the different types of elder abuse, covers predisposing factors and major indicators of abuse, and demonstrates the concept of reasonable suspicion to help nurses determine if a report needs to be filed.
